Governance
How Common Ground is run, in plain language
Trust is earned by being legible. Here is how we are organized, who is accountable, and what we commit to publish.
How Common Ground is organized
Common Ground's legal form is being finalized now and will be stated here plainly once it is set.
Our tax status is being finalized now. We will state it here plainly once it is set, and we will not describe how contributions are treated before then.
Board of Directors
The board is responsible for oversight, financial stewardship, safeguarding member data, and enforcing the chapter standards. The board keeps the same rule every chapter keeps: at least three political perspectives at the table, and no single party's identifiers holding a majority.
Board size and director term length will be set in the bylaws and published here. The founding board is being assembled now; expressions of interest are open.
Founding Advisory Committee
The advisory committee tests our work against experience. It meets quarterly. Members are chosen for judgment and for the range of political traditions they bring, so that no single perspective sets the agenda.
Executive leadership
Day-to-day work is led by the founder and managing director, with a small volunteer staff. Meet the team.
