Accessibility

Self-government is for everyone, so the site has to be usable by everyone. Here is what we commit to and how to tell us when we fall short.

What we do

• Keyboard: every page, menu, dialog, and form works without a mouse. Focus is always visible.
• Screen readers: landmarks, headings, labels, and status messages are marked up so that the page reads in order and form errors are announced.
• Contrast: every text and background pair we ship is checked against WCAG AA. Meaning is never conveyed by color alone; we pair it with text or an icon.
• Motion: we respect your system's reduced-motion setting. Transitions are subtle and never required to understand the page.
• Text: body copy uses a legible sans-serif at a comfortable size and line length, and scales with your browser settings.
• Mobile: layouts work from 320 pixels wide upward.

Known limitations

• Some third-party video links from events may open pages we do not control.
• Markdown content written by members is sanitized but may include headings out of order.

If you hit a barrier, email the contact address in the footer with the page and what happened. We treat accessibility reports the way we treat factual corrections: promptly and in public.
